Kamayan Forum November 19: "ROAD REVOLUTION FOR CLEAN AIR"
Kamayan Forum, Nov. 19:
'Road Revolution for Clean Air'
.
ROAD CHANGES by 16 cities and one municipality to make the air clean for the road systems: walkable, bikable, and serving mainly the non-car-owning majority commuters. This was announced recently by Marie Reyes-Marciano, the forum's lead moderator and founding chairperson of the SanibLakas ng mga Aktibong Lingkod ng Inang Kalikasan (SALIKA), one of the two active co-convenors of the 20-year-old Kamayan para sa Kalikasan monthly environmental forum. The other organization, which initiated the forum project in 1990, is Clear Communicators for the Environment (CLEAR).
.
..........In a text message, Marciano told SanibLakas InfoShare two days ago that the grand project is being coordinated by the Cycling Advocates(CYCAD) with leading environmentalist lawyer Antonio Oposa. She said attendance of Atty. Oposa and CYCAD leaders, and other clean air advocates at the forum is still the subject of coordination work with their respective offices.
.
..........Kamayan para sa Kalikasan is being held on the third Friday of every month since March 1990, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., through free lunch served by Kamayan-EDSA, full sponsor and regular venue of the forum.
