HAPPY NEW YOU!!! YES, "IT STARTS WITH YOU!"

Happy New YOU for a much greater New Year 2011, for a much greater New Decade 2011-2019, for a much greater New Humanity!
.
.......Darwin may not have looked too closely into the Evolution of Human Consciousness because he must have found it much more exciting to look into the Evolution of animal or mammal or primate anatomy and physiology, an evolution that was relatively much easier to establish and even measure while there was no perceptible parallel evolution in the realm of consciousness, even among pre-humans or early humans of up to earlier this very century.
.
.......But modern Canadian psycho-scientist Steven Pinker writes to assert the great importance of inter-generational consciousness evolution, and complains that too much edge is being given to hereditary factors of evolution in the ongoing "nature vs. nurture" academic discourse, and that among humans, language and other cultural developments may in fact account for more evolutionary progress. This dovetails with Drunvalo Melchizedeck's well-expressed amazement over the accelerating speed at which the human mind has developed, as aided by its information sharing tools such as computers and the internet.
.
......And predictions are increasing all around that the big planetary pole-shift expected to come to the earth by 2012 will be coupled with a great shift in Human Consciousness. These things are not expected to come on the first split-second of January 1, 2012, but creep in a bit more slowly but surely in the years and months of run-up to that year.
.
.......The New Decade has started about a dozen hours ago in our country, which is in one of the first time zones to greet midnight and sunrise every day. Will the greater New Humanity be soon following suit? "It starts with you," my zen master friend told me last week. If enough people simply open their heart-minds to the new paradigms of Synergy from Conscious Human Oneness, in shared divinity, and decide to live accordingly and successfully promote Love, Peace, Joy among enough other people on this planet, "if we get a critical mass for a 'New Humanity', we may not even be able to imagine, much less say clinically, just how much progress Human Consciousness Evolution may attain in just this coming New Year 2011!" As he said that, I couldn't help but think of the "Sing Out our Love, Peace, Joy in 2011" project. And my brother's new greeting for this day, "Happy New YOU!"
.
. A greater New Humanity by this New Decade... it can come, starting with the New YOU and new me! Together, let's pull it off!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! LET'S ALL SING OUT LOUD!

With protest folk songs, mainly from Peter, Paul M and Mary, virtually becoming the centerpiece of Sing Out in 1966, the folk songs mood changed a bit in the run-up towards the three-day Woodstock in the U.S. in 1969, also the year the 5th Dimension Singers happily sang to welcome the historic dawning of The Age of Aquarius click here. It was also in 1969 that the theme of peace was highlighted in John Lennon's Imagine click here and All We Are Saying is Give Peace a Chance click here. Over the decades, the peace theme was enriched by that of love and harmony, with I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing click here; We are the World click here; and also Paul MacCartney’s Ebony and Harmony click here, which he sang with Stevie Wonder .Without indulging in illusions of the work to be done being easy, the songs have strengthened our Human determination to make significant contributions to the Love-Peace-Joy consciousness and popular music of 2011 and succeeding years..

We have really come a long way from the Sing Out Folk Songs Festival in 1966 to the Sing Out our Love, Peace, Joy in 2011, just a span of five years short of half a century. And for the latter we encourage the world's many family and friendship groups to create, collect, share and sing songs together for the Love, Peace and Joy that most Humans openly desire and are getting about ready to materialize in earnest on our planet

A Call for Creating Lyrics on Love-Peace-Joy

.

I just read again my brother Surf's Christmas Eve posting and got so inspired by his treatment of Love, Peace, Joy (LPJ) that i now share his entire piece here and also raise a call for all.

The call is for all to try apply their creativity and create their own lyrics for "A Song on LPJ" that we can share around and popularize for group singing everywhere within our "Sing Out!" festival in 2011. Maybe i am just overwhelmed by what some people might call "naive optimism," asking people to compose at least lyrics or a whole song without offering any grand monetary prize, as in a grand contest. But really i am confident that many talented people in many countries may find the spirit of Love, Peace, Joy strong and compelling enough to try to heed this call.

Ultimately, the prize for each shared attempt may just be the honor of contributing significantly to great efforts for promoting far and wide this very spirit in a new human consciousness emerging in these historic times of human evolution. And I can't help but admit that I actually half-expect to be very pleasantly surprised over a big harvest from this ambitious call by about this time next year!

(To read more information on the "Sing Out our Love, Peace, Joy" 2011, please click here: http://readdingz.blogspot.com/2010/12/sing-out-our-lpj-in-2011.html and also this link: http://readdingz.blogspot.com/2010/12/spirit-of-baguios-sing-out-1966-folk.html)

Here's that Christmas Eve posting again from Surf, to which a good number of his FB friends responded very positively:

Life Is a Season of Love, Peace, Joy

by Surf Reyes on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 11:41am

Some time ago, I wrote: We often hear people say, "May God be with you." Or, "May Peace be with you." The loving intent behind these phrases is indisputable. And intent is really everything. Intent is will, the most powerful force in the universe.

Still, the words are inaccurate...and inadvertently plant a disempowering virus that can insidiously corrupt the operating system of one who is unaware. Words have energy...and power. "May God be with you" and "May Peace be with you" subliminally send the hypnotic suggestion that God, Peace, is not yet with you! In Truth, who you really are, in a very real sense, is the "part" of God within your servant manifesting personality vessel. God is in you as your soul, you true Self. So are all...individuations of the divine One Being. Who you really are is a Spirit-Being of Love, Peace and Joy...as you have always been and always will be. Everyone is just in the journey of regaining awareness of the actual reality that God, whose nature is infinite Love, Peace, and Joy, is the innermost reality in one's own heart.

I then propose to remove the virus by saying instead, "God IS in you." This is the essence of "namasté": the divine in me greets the divine in you. There is direct acknowledgment and affirmation of the one Truth within all. Instead of, "May Peace be with you", one can say, "Peace IS with you", or more precisely, "You are Peace."

If this is too direct for the taste of others, I propose instead, "May we fully awaken to God within us." "May we fully awaken to being Peace." Like Love and Joy, Peace is not something to find and to have...but to consciously BE.

I remembered the above piece I wrote as, presently, in this special season of the year, we often hear people say, "May you have love. May you have peace. May you have joy." Again, indisputably, this is all coming from a loving intention...which, indisputably, is what is essential. A loving intention is the most powerful force in the universe.

Still, I wish to clarify that what people are really referring to, as what they wish others to HAVE...are the MANIFESTATIONS of Love, Peace, and Joy. It is essential that people become aware of the difference between the BEING of Love/Peace/Joy from Its manifestations...the Creator from its creation. One is indeed something to have...the other is not a matter of having but a matter of conscious BEING.

These manifestations that one can have are the natural consequence, the effortless result of...the conscious experience of BEING Love/Peace/Joy...of being a conscious Creator. The more one becomes aware of who one really is as a Being of Love/Peace/Joy within one's servant personality vessel, the more one is blessed with receiving the corresponding manifestations. The focus should then be on awakening to, or consciously experiencing, the Being of Love/Peace/Joy within oneself...which is who one really is.

Wisdom is knowing the difference between perception and reality. However it may appear to intellectual perception, in reality, everything that is made manifest in our lives is our own creation. Where there is fear, from the darkness of ignorance of who we really are...we unconsciously create all manner of fragmentation and conflict, pain and suffering. Only from awakening to who we really are as beings of love/peace/joy...can we be conscious Creators...constantly manifesting our creative and unifying nature in the world, as is the divine will.

May we all fully awaken to who we really are: Beings of Love, Peace, Joy...and consciously experience and manifest in our lives: unity, oneness, love, compassion, kindness, peace and joy!

In this special celebration, may you have lots of great gifts, yummy food, singing and laughter, and the constant warm embrace of the presence of loved ones! May you be filled with joyful appreciation and gratitude for the awesome miracle of life all around! Merry Christmas!

And for the birth of 2011...Happy New You! :-)

Spirit of Baguio’s SING OUT! 1966: Folk Songs by PPM

Spirit of Baguio’s SING OUT! 1966: Protest Folk Songs by PPM

The “SING Out!” Folk Songs Festival staged by the Baguio International Club in May 1966 had more than half a dozen groups of varied nationalities singing songs from varied countries, and a good number of those groups interpreted numbers popularized by the phenomenal American trio, Peter, Paul and Mary, also known as the P.P.M.

To share with you just how the songs more or less sounded like, we now invite you to check out the click here links to youtube uploads after the song titles mentioned here, This would expectedly raise some nostalgic feelings for us in the show (I was part of it not really as a singer but as the volunteer curtain-raiser) and all the others who have liked the folk music protest songs of that period from that summer, on.

I no longer remember which of the songs were sung by the groups during the concert itself and which ones they were singing many times after that show, in a long train that followed, keeping to the Spirit of Sing Out! ’66. (I rely on memory as I write this whole thing.)

The two-member Beachfolks tandem of Sonny Joaquin and Dado Pascua did two folk song numbers that added to the international flavor, keeping to the nature of the organizers: Awi-mawe click here (African) and Tzena-Tzena click here (Hebrew), but they were also well-remembered for Scratch Me Back click here (English, Latin style); If I Had My Way click here; The First Time I ever I Saw Your Face. and Frisco Bay Blues click here (both American, PPM). They also led in popularizing among us the song Amen click here, with lyrics fully composed of the word “Amen” repeated five times per line, which became the Sing-Out! Promo song after we substituted the words "Sing" and "Out" for the two syllables of "Amen." We’re now thinking of doing that again with the full title of the current project, “Sing Out – Our Love – Peace and Joy – Sing Out! – Sing Out!” for every repetition of the word “Amen.”

The “Sangurvolks” trio of Mars Agana, Ray Comilang and Rey Paraan (who was replacing Gilbert Joven from the original Folksingers Three) had an almost-purely-PPM repertoire, with 500 Hundred Miles click here; For Lovin’ Me click here; Morning Train; and the Ballad of Spring Hill click here. The Reyes Family Singers (Buddy, Mila, Surf and Marie Reyes, four of the eight family members who had performed in a Dinner-Dance at Aristocrat-Cubao, in Quezon City the year before) also had PPM songs (Go, Tell it on the Mountain click here; Man Come into Egypt click here; Come Go With Me to that Land click here;) along with others (What’s That I Hear Now click here; and Rock My Soul click here).

The Triad of sisters Lennie and Lulu Abellera with Carol Brady sang Four Strong Winds click here; and Lily of the West. Soloist American Chris Francone sang Where Have All the Flowers Gone? click here; and Cruel War click here; and an American male duet (Mike Bentley and another guy) were memorable for their ultra-protest song Eve of Destruction click here.

Guest performers who came from Manila were the Paredes Singers, namely sisters Meiling and Lory, and their brother Jim who later figured in the popular Apo Hiking Society. They sang PPM’s Betty and Dupree click here and Freight Train click here, among their many songs. Other performers included the Mountain Maids of the Good Shepherd convent in Baguio with their Ilocano and Tagalog numbers; the Golden Axes who were Thai students from the city’s Brent school; and Steve Comilang, who was a hit with his song about “The Rooster,” aside from being the emcee of the show. Unofficial but effective cheerleders for performers and crew alike were Amerasian (Fil-Am) sisters Alice and Becky Cariño.

It was a year later, at another concert (Sing, Folks, Sing!), that the RFS adopted Because All Men Are Brothers click here (PPM/Pete Seeger) as its “anthem,” the finale piece for the full group of eight members (with teenaged Lito and Ding duet singing Fleetwoods and Lettermen selections and the grade-schoolers Tony, Jimmy and Rose as a trio with PPM songs, like Puff, the Magic Dragon click here and Autumn to May click here.).

With protest folk songs, mainly from PPM, virtually becoming the centerpiece of Sing Out in 1966, the folk songs mood changed a bit in the run-up towards the three-day Woodstock in the U.S. in 1969, also the year the 5th Dimension Singers happily sang to welcome the historic dawning of The Age of Aquarius click here.

And for the latter we encourage the world's many family and friendship groups to create, gather, share and sing songs together for the Love, Peace and Joy that most Humans openly desire and are getting about ready to materialize in earnest on our planet.

Humankind marches faster and firmer, against all difficulties, towards the state of “synergy from conscious oneness” well within the spiritual enlightenment age, the Age of Aquarius that was just dawning some 45 years ago.

A Christmas-Love Song for You

A Christmas-Love Song for You

(This is a Christmas-love Lovesong, not a Valentine-love Lovesong. )

SONGS MAY BE classified under one of two kinds. The first is primarily mood-carrying and the second is primarily message-carrying. Pure music is wordless, and carries only melodies, harmonies of melodies, beat or rhythm, and sound textures, which are not very useful for message-carrying, except messages of moods, namely the moods of the composer or of the performer(s).

To carry messages beyond moods, song composers usually have to "borrow" creations from other fields of aesthetics, namely poems, which we call “lyrics,” from the field of literary writing.

Below are lines of lyrics from the refrain of a song promoting and propagating the message of Love, Peace, Joy, a very apt theme for this Christmas season and for the succeeding period of the “SING OUT our LOVE, PEACE, JOY!” project which starts on the very first minute of 2011, spreads worldwide, and may eventually refuse to end.

Here’s that stanza from the refrain, the words clearly carrying to all who hear a clear message of hope and joy…

Harmony and understanding,

Sympathy and trust abounding,

No more falsehoods or derisions,

Golden living dreams of vision,

Mystic crystal revelation,

And the mind’s true liberation…

Aquarius! Aquarius!

After reading, we now invite you to mouse-click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EegRh8Z4H-o, to enjoy the mood that the song’s cheerful melody, harmony and rhythm carry together. A loving, cheerful and joyful Christmas to all of us! (Click at the leftward arrow at the top left corner of the monitor screen to go back to this blogsite page where the lyrics of the entire song are at the very bottom.)

Further, we invite you to SING OUT with us, and to invite others to do the same. We are going to have a lot of happily Singing Out together to do in the coming happy New Year!

AQUARIUS (Fifth-Dimension Singers, 1969)

When the Moon

Is in the Seventh House

And Jupiter aligns with Mars,

Then peace will guide our planets,

And love will steer the stars!

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius,

The Age of Aquarius... Aquarius!

Harmony and understanding,

Sympathy and trust abounding,

No more falsehoods or derisions,

Golden living dreams of vision,

Mystic crystal revelation,

And the mind’s true liberation…

Aquarius! Aquarius!

EFEOH... EFE-OH!!!

"christmas love" and "valentine love"

It's a great season to be conscious of "christmas love"
Unlike 'valentine love,' which many of us humans do tend to overfocus on, 'christmas love' is universally livable and available, with no stiff protocols on fidelity, and no dangers of falling into 'improprieties.'
.
. We can all evolve further as humans and develop such unconditional love among us all, and attain the conscious oneness of humanity.
.
.. Humans are inching ever closer to this. It's more the love in our LOVE, PEACE, JOY that we are going to start to SING OUT! about, with happy voices together, starting the first half of this coming year, in many homes and other warm sites all around, to celebrate the great shifts in human consciousness.

NOT long after our plant sculptures, were gilded with a golden lining. My heart was overflowing with joy beholding such awesome beauty.e gained altitude, I watched the dawn slowly creep into the deep blue darkness as a crescent of ember glow defining the earth’s horizon. Soon the burst of golden sun emerged, and the sleeping dark clouds, like hanging pieces of backlit sculptures, were gilded with a golden lining. My heart was overflowing with joy beholding such awesome beauty.

Still I felt a hole in my wholeness. I wished my love were there to share the miracle of God’s living painting.

From the airport we were brought to Eden, a mountain resort owned by Chito and Fe Ayala. We were a group of four women and two men.

The other guy was Bob Basa, our US- based professional jazz guitarist friend. The women were the sisters Meiling and Lory, and their cousin Ciay, and a close friend, Gigi. We were kindred souls from innumerable lifetimes past and future. From Eden we were supposed to be brought to Buenavista, the Ayalas’ island resort, but Fe insisted on giving us a guided tour of Eden before we proceeded to the beach.

We were all senses awake to the

of God’s living words!

We filled up two golf carts and drove together around the nature paradise. I’ve never seen such diversity of plants and trees in one place. There were so many varieties of beautiful flowers. We also went to where they had a wide collection of exotic birds and we stopped to look at each one. The amazing colors and designs made them look like large flying flowers.

We would stop at nature shrines in this nature temple, and Fe would name each tree, plant, and flower.

And we were not limited to a visual feast, for in other places, this high priestess of the temple of Eden asked each one of us to pick up leaves of different plants to smell; in other places we picked leaves to taste. While all around was the sound of singing birds, gurgling brooks, the sound of giant bamboo swinging with the wind.

We were all senses awake to the awesome miracle of God’s living words! We thanked Fe for a truly spiritual experience. There is nothing like the purity of nature to touch one’s soul and feel God’s presence in all that awesome beauty.

With my feet caressing soft fine sand, and thoughts of my love running to and fro, I watch the waves play tag along the shore turning white fringes of froth as they come and go. A colorful peacock prances by, then flies onto the thatched roof of the hut behind. Regally poised against the blue sky, he sings a lonely call to his loved one. It is sunset and the golden sun, peeking through the dark cloudy veil, reflects a shimmering orange tail, that cuts the blue sea in two. A boat silently sails into view. I am in love with sunsets and twilights that make me soar into magical flights, across the splashes of contrasting colors, shifting in the sky, then dying like embers. And soon, as I wrote in a song, “The golden sun dipped into the wrinkled sea, turning the darkness on.” And in the death of day, the night is born, pulsing with angelic fireflies in its womb of black velvet skies. I make wishes as stars streak light when they fall, while my heart sings a lonely peacock's call.

After spending Holy Week at the beach, most of the guests, including the friends I came with, left for Manila on Saturday and Easter Sunday. I decided to go back to Eden for at least another day before my return flight. Back in Eden, I asked to be brought by shuttle to the place they called Shangri-la. Along the way I stopped to observe a sleek brown deer roaming freely on the steep sides of a natural gorge. I soon reached Shangri-La where Fe’s house sprawled comfortably on a leveled plateau on top of a hill.

Floating along serendipity's flow, I found myself at the edge of a plateau, close to the gilded edge of day. I stood on top of a stairway, that led 18 steps down to a flat ledge, covered with a wealth of green grass, lined with flower bushes at the edge. Beyond and be neath, were crowds of trees, branches a-sway, waving at me with hands of leaves. While further away, levels of hillside greenery turned more bluish gray, as they marched to a misty valley, etched with roofs, like patterned ply. Still further beyond was the sea, that in the mist, merged with the sky.

I soon went down the stone steps lingering on each level, on the way to the grassy ledge, where pine trees lined the stretch, each like a towering sentinel. On the last step curled a sprawl of low bush with hundreds of tiny flowers pretty purple. I was a child enchanted, pulled to gently caress with my hand their joyful faces. “I love you.” I repeatedly chanted, with scented smiles they responded. I noticed a small yellow butterfly with black edging that around me flitted, and a gray one with pink traces, as the flying flowers flirted with the tiny purple petaled faces.

I chose my spot on the grass and then sat and meditated with eyes wide open, fully present in each moment born of eternity, feeling my oneness with all the life that surrounded me. Suddenly, on my right hand, which clasped my left in a prayer pose, I saw a small gray butterfly alight, so close to my nose. An intricate pattern of cream and white flecked her tiny gray wings where, near the tail fringe, was a tiny black dot surrounded by rings of stark red orange.

As black as shiny grease, her head had four white lines, and antennae quivering in the breeze. I am awed by God's designs! “I love you!” to her I oft repeated, and like a lovely ballerina she pirouetted, in halting steps of her tiny feet, as she slowly turned to me to greet. She struggled a little with the winds, that buffeted her tiny sailboat wings, but regally stood her ground. Everything faded all around, as we held hands for an eternity. Then she flew away and left me.

But she lives in my heart forever, as everything and everyone I have ever loved, as will all the beauty I am meant to discover. I knew that Fe kept a secret garden in Shangri-la and I sought to find it. I started walking up a trail on a hill beside her house.

How creative

the Great Designer is!

=======

Guided by the spirit of Eden, I sought to find Fe's secret garden. Up a hill, I started walking on a trail that led to some pebbled roads, where lodges sat like toads. A peacock, pure white from its head to its long flowing tail, crossed the road and melted into the lush of green bushes. I searched along a narrow trail, my ear following the mantric murmur of distant flowing water, when all of a sudden, I realized I had stumbled into Fe's fabled secret garden.

Under giant umbrellas, white as the clouds, tiered circular rows of potted begonias sat like colorful crowds in the tiny amphitheaters. Joyful was the greeting between us! The unique design in each drew my focus. Like wings of giant moths, the leaves of the different varieties were like watercolor paintings, or specially hand-dyed cloths.

It never fails to mesmerize me, how creative the Great Designer is!

I moved on and discovered a mound, with a thick fur of small green leaves sprinkled with hundreds of tiny flowers, smiling in many different colors. Beneath a communion of plants I found a pump’s metal mouth partly hidden, through which water flowed down to a large jade basin. The overflow of water poured down to a rock ledge, and flowed like a mini river that turned into a tiny waterfall at the rock’s edge.

The gurgling water further flowed, like a brook through a small gorge, to a circular pool where the sun glowed. Plants and flowers all around, sprouted wildly from the lush grass. My heart was naked to the sound of birds singing their unique melodies, bathing my feelings to soothe. And in the space of the sounds of nature was the sweet sound of pure silence, the sound of soul.

Only that which arises from, or exists within, this silence is the truth.

In the silence of soul, the inner Sunrise filled me with its holy breathing light, “Feel in your heart where all are one, where meets the moon and the sun. Every plant and tree, every flower, each leaf and blade of grass, every butterfly, every winged creature soaring in the sky, each rock, pebble and grain of soil and sand, every legged living thing walking on land, each star and planet, fairy, angel and saint: in the wholeness of all Creation, each and every part, join together at a point in your heart.”

With my heart fully open in meditation, I was in holy communion with all of Creation. I walked around fully present in His Presence, reaching out to feel each rock, every tree, everything I could touch, and said audibly, “I love you” to all, as tears of joy flowed as tiny rivers down my earthly face, as around everything a golden light glowed.

Eden touched my soul and made me whole. In the womb of Mother Eden, I was reborn of the awareness of the oneness of all.

As I once wrote beholding a glorious sunrise:

Sa paliwanag ng bukang-liwayway,
Nagising ako sa pagkakaugnay-ugnay
At kabuuan ng Sanlikha.
Sa tunay na paliwanag pala’y
di kailangan ng salita.Sa paliwanag ng bukang-liwayway,
Nagising ako sa pagkakaugnay-ugnay
At kabuuan ng Sanlikha.
Sa tunay na paliwanag pala’y
di kailangan ng salita.

In the overflowing of love, I reached out to share with kindred souls with this text message, “I am so
in love…I am right now alone in Fe’s secret garden. I am in Holy Communion… with the whole universe.
I am ‘allone’ (all one / alone).”
Reluctantly, I soon left for the airport to fly back to Manila, but I brought Eden fully alive in my heart.
Waiting for the plane, I sent another text message to my family and friends, my kindred souls:

Isa lang ang buhay na walang hanggan,
Na tumutuhog sa lahat ng sanlibutan.
Ako ay ikaw, ikaw ay ako,
Isang buhay lang tayo.
